Last week, I was in Tignes with the French Homeless Street Soccer team, trained by Remise en Jeu. They’re gearing up for the next Homeless World Cup, which will happen in Paris this year! I’m gonna be with them throughout their meetings… At this moment, there are 15 of them, but only 8 will participate in the final team. It will be quite hard for the coach to make his final choice: he’s assembled a very good team so far.
I’ve been lead to this story by a similar one I did in New York for the (unfortunately stillborn) Propos Magazine, so I was like… “Is there such a thing in France?”. Of course there was! I’ve already spent a weekend then a whole week with the guys from France, trying to understand how they interact with each other, what drives them… and I will be following Jonathan, Arezki, Kévin, Hamza, Sylla, Igor, Jérôme, Camara and the others until next August! I don’y know yet where it will be published, but it will surely be a big part of that work in progress.
